Late Night FDL: Hot Mic Merriment

At least Obama has a sense of humor plus some timing and delivery, which is more than can be said about Rmoney, Frothy Santorum, the Gin Grinch, or Grandpa Ron Paul. Or for that matter, Sarah Palin who wooden delivery on the Today Show, coupled with her grating voice, and robotic repetition of

socialist policies

was tragic.  Fred Karger is funny and as a former actor  can deliver witty remarks, but MSM forgets he’s running.  Here’s what Obama said today:

REMARKS BY THE PRESIDENT

AT THE ASSOCIATED PRESS LUNCHEON

Marriott Wardman Park

Washington, D.C.

THE PRESIDENT:  Thank you very much.  (Applause.)  Please have a seat.  Well, good afternoon, and thank you to Dean Singleton and the board of the Associated Press for inviting me here today.  It is a pleasure to speak to all of you — and to have a microphone that I can see.  (Laughter.)  Feel free to transmit any of this to Vladimir if you see him.  (Laughter.)

Clearly, we’re already in the beginning months of another long, lively election year.  There will be gaffes and minor controversies, be hot mics and Etch-a-Sketch moments.  You will cover every word that we say, and we will complain vociferously about the unflattering words that you write — unless, of course, you’re writing about the other guy — in which case, good job.  (Laughter.)

Lisa!

It is going to be a long grim election year, based on what so far passes for political reporting.

sfmikey | Tuesday April 3, 2012 08:22 pm 5

Depressing election season ahead, any way you slice it.

About the only thing the press has done right lately is say very little about Gingrich. Looks like he’s the only one who’s noticed he’s still running.

At this point, he is only running from himself.

Loved the video! I’m still laughing over Ann Romney’s radio suggestion to “unzip Mitt”.

BTW, hey Suzanne! Hope you are well today!

You beat me to it. The funniest part is, I really don’t believe she realized it was an uh, double entendre.

Q: “Sometimes he appears stiff. do you have to fight back like, ‘My husband isn’t stiff, OK?’”

Ann Romney: “Well, ah, you know, I guess, I guess, we better unzip him and let the real Mitt Romney out ’cause he is not.”

It’s a Stepford thing.

Fortunately it was a breach that can be remedied with a simple posthumous baptism.

I have this really bad pain in my fingers on both hands and in my left hand itself. How fast can arthritis come on? It REALLY hurts, but it just started like 10 minutes ago.

Not arthritis if you didn’t have it before. Is it possible your current position is causing you to crimp some nerves?

Hope it goes well. Smiles and agnostic/Quaker “prayers” from the least coast.

Glackin | Tuesday April 3, 2012 09:36 pm 18

ratfood, check your position. Sounds like a pinched nerve in your neck. Lean back, roll your head side to side.
I have two crushed cervical discs, from 35 years ago. It shows up as numbness, tingling, or pain in my fingers and hands.
So, stare at the ceiling, gaze at the stars. And do a little bobble-head stuff.

are you drinking enough water–dehydration can produce weird effects, so can low electrolytes. Maybe some diluted fruit juice, Emergen-C, or Gator-ade type thing?

I think you’re right. I fell asleep on the chair last night and woke up with my head hanging over the arm (basically sleeping upside down) and now — 14 hours later — my fingers are hurting so bad I’m typing with one finger at a time — pecking at the keyboard. No way I could have caused permanent damage, is there?

No. Build a pillow mound. If you sleep on your back, put a rolled towel or something under your neck. If on your side, a couple of pillows, and put one between your knees.
The idea is to make your spine straight, and let it rest that way.
Some relaxants (liquid, pharma or herbal)and a hot shower before bed is great.
And a companion to give you a nice massage is better.
Just no gymnastics, okay?
