Late Night FDL: GOP Fatwa, Rush Goes Mullah on Newt

The world is wacky and zany in GOP politics:  Rush Windbag has ordered a fatwa on Newter Gingrinch, saying:

Newt Gingrich should apologize for his attacks on free markets. He should apologize to Governor Romney.

Is this eleven-level chess playing by Rush, bait and switching? Is he serious? Is he crazy? Or is he testing the bounds of reality?

Rush is, as always, testing the limits of the Big & Tall Men department.

LISA!

lol poor Newt – for a minute there he thought he’d be Queen of the May. He’s dying hard – just love his scorched earth policy, “Keep it up, Babycakes.”

masaccio | Tuesday January 10, 2012 08:04 pm 3

I can’t wait for Newt’s appearance licking Rush’s fat ass.

Is there a more vile human? (I use that word lightly or with caveats or something)

Ewww. That much jiggling cellulite in one room could be…hypnotic. And not in a good way.

There are, but most of them are running for president.

Newt is managing to flame out even more spectacularly than I had anticipated. Flame on, little toad, flame on!

Well, day one of my linguistics MA comp exams is over, and went fairly well. Turned out to be a relatively straightforward problem set. Tomorrow will be more time consuming, though.

That 1/2 video of Mitt that Adelson financed was made on spec by a guy who worked on Mitt’s last prez run

At the rate he is going, he could burn down the whole Gooper house of cards. His attacks on Romney, who is almost certainly the nominee, are the kind that could easily alienate moderate and undecided voters and insure an Obama victory.

athena1 | Tuesday January 10, 2012 08:17 pm 13

Rush has been freaking out about Newt for a while now. Newt has referred to himself as a “FDR progressive Republican” before (LOL!) and Rush really hates him.

I was reading Rush’s site earlier today, too, btw. The man is completely incoherent. But I love that cheezy picture of him smoking a cigar on his homepage. It cracks me up every time I see it.

True. I don’t put it past Newt to run a scorched earth campaign…he really, truly cares about nothing except his own wealth and influence.

masaccio | Tuesday January 10, 2012 08:23 pm 16

Let’s remember that free enterprise isn’t free for workers.

Yep. Time to stock up on the popcorn, especially of Ron Paul goes for a third party run.

Dearie | Tuesday January 10, 2012 08:28 pm 18

I’ve become so jaded that I suspect those kocksuckers want implosion in 2012 so that Obama can complete the take down of SS and Medicare and then be so hated that the R’s can come rushing back to ‘save America’ from the socialists in 2016. Ka-boo-key!

OT – WEEEE, Breaking!

My preferred candidate, Vermin Supreme, is coming in 3rd in the NH Primary on the Dem side!

A pony based economy, and a dental regime, is coming. Rest assured!

I’m hoping Paul will stay Repugnant at least until Mar. 13th, so I could go caucus for him here in the Isles…! Not that I will vote for him in the GE, but, to just f*ck with the Goopers…! ;-)

Personally, I think you ought to give poor Huntsman some love. Truly loathsome and regressive policies, but actually sane, has a measurable IQ, and is not shamelessly pandering to every loon on the right, so nobody even notices he is alive.

athena1 | Tuesday January 10, 2012 08:38 pm 28

Here’s Beck freaking out about the Newtmeister:

http://www.glennbeck.com/2011/12/13/unbelievable-newt-loves-fdr-models-himself-after-woodrow-wilson-and-admires-seius-andy-stern/

If only Newt’s love of FDR was as genuine as O’s love of Reagan, huh?

Vermin Supreme is teh Awesome! I have emailed his campaign asking for exclusive bullshit rights.

I expect that request to be ignored or granted and look forward to all the opportunities either situation represents.

Back to your regularly scheduled blogging.

Interesting: If the R’s were behind Huntsman, he could probably give Obama a real run for the money. The powers that be don’t actually want that, of course.

And here I was concerned that the Democrats were hampered by a serious deficit of loons and whackjobs to compete with the Republicans on a level playing field.

For whatever reason the GOP money boys have settled on Mittens (who actually polls better against Obama than any of the others right now) rather than Huntsman. They really do want to win this, which is why they have the knives out for Newticles, who could not get elected dogcatcher.

Dearie | Tuesday January 10, 2012 08:47 pm 34

I’m curious, though…..would the alleged Democrats fight back against Romney if he were as hell bent on doing serious damage to SS and Medicare and such? I may be naive, but I find Obama more troubling than Romney … and Romney is an empty suit. I’m just not smart enough to know who will actually be the President if Romney is elected. Of course I don’t know who (besides the bank guys) is running Obama, either.

DrDick | Tuesday January 10, 2012 08:52 pm 35
In response to Dearie @ 34

I am not convinced that Obama actively wants to gut those programs, though he is clearly willing to sacrifice them to get some kind of deal he wants. I still have not figured out exactly what it is he is looking to get. As to the Dems standing up to Romney, they did not put up much resistance against Dubya or Reagan.

Did you watch Vermin’s (Mr. Supreme to YOU) video performance? I think not, sir.

One should surely support a pony-based economy.

Tsk.

Well he shares the pony-based economy idea with Rona Paul, so maybe he could make inroads with the libertarians as well.

EvilDrPuma | Tuesday January 10, 2012 09:08 pm 41

Sez Newt: “I believe if we had a Republican House, Republican Senate and a Gingrich presidency, we’d get amazing things done.”

“I say we dust off and nuke the site from orbit,” Gingrich continued. “It’s the only way to be sure.”

HIVANH | Wednesday January 11, 2012 04:21 am 42

As long as the citizenry favors the weird, bizarre, spectacular, outlandish, abnormal and entertainment -filled antics by the self-possesed, the Rushies and Becks and Palins of the media will continue to proliferate their illogical polemics. Damn the torpedos of logic! Full speed ahead to Looneyville!

Newtie and Rushbo deserve one another.

bowman | Wednesday January 11, 2012 07:44 am 43

Rush is just coming to the defense of the real leaders of the party, the rich thieving job destroying puppet masters of the socalled free enterprise.the same puppet masters that tell Rush what to say and who to back then pay him 37 million to spout thier bullshit.what real Service does Rush do for this country for 37 million a yr.and he complains about school teachers, police, firefighters, hardworking productive americans, people who provide a real service who just want to make a decent living 30,000 to 100,000 a year.

It seems to me that the Repugs are actually throwing the election, as if BHO is really their man. It just doesn’t pass the smell test that this well-funded and established party would stage such a disastrous goat rodeo otherwise. The only alternative scenario I can imagine is that they’re planning some kind of brokered convention trickery, pulling Jeb (the only R who stands a chance in the general) out of nowhere.
