Late Night FDL: GOP Epic Fail!

It is really tragic when the mouthpiece of conservatism’s fill-in host has uncovered that no one in the GOP is worthy of running. Today, Rush Windbag’s guest blatherer, Mark Belling, actually made sense when he basically said that no one running for the Republican nomination is qualified, though he cited some  reasons that only make sense to conservatives.

Along with pointing out Mittens is well, Mittens, it seems Newt must be cast off the island, because he supported Romneycare. Aside from his stance on business, Ron Paul is a

wingnut.

Yes, Belling called Ron Paul a wingnut! At that point I had to get out of the car, because I was at my appointment. But wow. And the hits keep coming. That frothy mixture of anal lube and feces, Rick Santorum said today:

If I finish dead last behind the pack I’m going to pack up and go home.

stating elsewhere that

If you want to send a message to the man, those are the folks that are the experts, the folks that are trying to shape this race….If you want to stick it to the folks who want to shape the debate and think they can tell you who you should pay attention to, as opposed to you who have been on the ground listening to all the candidates, this is where you step up and say, ‘No, you don’t get to decide…’

Then he went pheasant hunting.

Lisa!

My only question is what took them so long? I mean, it has been obvious from the git-go that the GOP A-Team was really F Troop.

We call that reality sinking in :) I guess the cognitive dissonance shield against reality has pierced the Beltway media.

I think this is more a case of finally not being able to cover it up rather than arriving at an epiphany.

Outside of Mtt and Huntman they are all wingnuts and even Mitt and Huntsman need wingnut votes to win the GOP Primary you can’t win the GOP Presidential race without them.
Thats like trying to make M & Ms without chocolate.

Yeah, but I always though that the GOP were experts at hiding from reality (and hiding it from others).

Huntsman and Romney are moderately sane and reasonably intelligent, which puts them in a class by themselves in this field, but both support really extreme and regressive economic policies. Romney is pandering to the lunatics for all he is worth, but Huntsman will not lower himself to that level, which is why he has no chance in hell.

ThingsComeUndone | Tuesday December 27, 2011 08:24 pm 9

I assume the Corporate GOP is trying to explain why they expect to lose the next election I wonder what their polls of their base is telling them about their base voting?
The GOP would not diss their likely next Presidential Candidate a wingnut who ever he or she is before the primaries even start unless they were sure they would lose the general election.

I actually got a couple of weeks off for that (sort of anyway, as I still had stuff I had to work on). Back to work a week from today.

ThingsComeUndone | Tuesday December 27, 2011 08:26 pm 11

I stand corrected on Huntsman he is so far down in the polls its hard to keep up with what he is doing never mind his positions.

They certainly are that but I guess there finally comes a point at which one can’t call shit “perfume” anymore. Like all of the doomsday cults have to eventually recognize that their leader(s) are lying a pantload when the world doesn’t come to an end. Either that or become a laughingstock.

Mittens is the Establishment’s boy and has been from the beginning. They could have supported Huntsman, as well, but he has even less charisma, if that is even possible, and less support among the base. They tried to grit their teeth and back Newt, but just could not do it. The base is in disarray. They hate Mittens and Huntsman and are at best lukewarm to Newt. None of the people they love has a chance in hell of winning the general election. I foresee a really depressed GOP turnout this next election.

I suspect that when you are up to your neck in rancid elephant shit, it is a little hard to lie to yourself anymore.

Rush had a sub put out this trial balloon of GOP failure to keep his hands clean. But nobody gets on his show without being a full cool aid drinking party member.
Does Mitt’s Bain Capital still own Clearchannel where Rush work’s. After Bain bought Clearchannel Bain cut worker’s job’s but kept Rush’s huge contract.
That’s what we can expect from Mitt as President.

ThingsComeUndone | Tuesday December 27, 2011 08:32 pm 16

Should Rush and ClearChannel even be covering politics since Bain owns them and Mitt founded Bain?

Lisa Derrick | Tuesday December 27, 2011 08:32 pm 17

Frothy mix Santorum is primed to be a Fox commentator. Except he looks more like a deer in the headlights than Dan Quayle. And teh Googles will kill his career

I almost feel sorry for little Frothy (in between giggling at him). He should have been a natural for the base, but they do not even seem to know he exists. I really did expect him to rise in the polls while they were going through the 15 minutes of fame bit, but he barely budged.

Lisa Derrick | Tuesday December 27, 2011 08:40 pm 25

The sub was talking about how great the conservatives are in GOP, they get the vote out, they set the party platform, etc. But (he cried a little almost, it seemed) there are no true conservatives on slate. Maybe that’s the problem: The neo-cons have utted the grand Old Party…

Lisa Derrick | Tuesday December 27, 2011 08:41 pm 26

gutted. But utted works as some sort of word. On some planet. I am exhausted.

Typical rightwing evasion. Conservatism can never fail, only you can fail conservatism. They are setting up the listeners to get slaughtered in the general election.

Also, it was not the really Neocons that destroyed the party, it was the Teabaggers and Talibangelicals. The Corparate boys and the Neocons brought them in as the ground troops (you cannot win wars when the odds are 99:1) and then they took over.

good point. Getting the evangelical/fundie-to-nutter religius vote, politicizing religion was hugely divisive to the country.

As often as conservatism gets failed, you might hope that the wingnuts would get the idea that it’s an anattainable ideal. (They’ll never admit that it’s also an undesirable 0ne.)
