There’s a very informative wiki page on Choi. An Arabic translator. I think he is a true patriot who speaks against things that the USA has done/is doing ineffectively. I have no doubt that DADT was finally overcome through his courageous efforts. It’s easy to dismiss the young men and women who joined the armed forces, but we don’t walk in their shoes.

Ms. Winkle, do you mean until he sees it in context of the bigger picture through your eyes? The big picture is enormous and each of us has the right to decide context.
Lt. Choi is a voice for GLBT rights. That’s what this thread is about. I’m pretty sure.

So let me get this straight he want to have the right to be open be equal while at the same time being part of a force that through its actions support regimes that not only oppose (and kill gay people) and women etc

I get what choi is trying to do, but until he sees it in context of the bigger picture you have lost me
