Tea Party Candidate Bagged for Rx Drug Trafficking

Arrested Tea Party candidate is a real pill!
A self-described law-and-order candidate for the Orlando, Florida city commission who announced his bid at a Tea Party rally earlier this year has been arrested on charges of drug trafficking, reports the Orlando Sentinel.
Ezell Harris, who calls himself as “E-Z Harris” on his MySpace page–which features a banner reading “Jail Corrupt Politicians” — is being held on four counts: trafficking in hydrocodone, dispensing illegal drugs without a license, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful use of a two-way radio.
Harris may try to explain away the latter charge because he is head of the group Floridians Monitoring Law Enforcement. In April 2009, he focused much of his attention on Orlando Police Chief Val Demmings who left her gun, three ammo clips, a pair of handcuffs and a police baton in her unattended, apparently unlocked vehicle overnight; the gun was stolen. Floridians Monitoring Law Enforcement offered a $1,500 for the weapon’s return. Harris let up after Chief Demmings threatened to sue him
Harris has also been a vocal opponent of city council incumbent Daisy Lynum, frequently denouncing her as corrupt in council meetings. Lynum seemed nonplussed by Harris’ arrest, telling the Orlando Sentinel:
This man has been under investigation for months. His clients are the ones who alerted us to his behavior. I’m really shocked he would try to pass himself off as an upstanding member of the community.
Wow, you have to be a really rotten drug dealer to have your “clients” turn you in, unless they took a snitch jacket for deal.
The Sentinel reports:
Investigators believe he was selling Lorcet and Vicodin – brand names of hydrocodone — that had been prescribed to him. According to his website, he served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army for three years in the late 1970s, and was classified as disabled in 1980.
Orlando’s Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation (MBI) says Harris sold undercover agents hydrocodone, oxycodone, methadone and Xanax. His bail has been set at $104,000.
