Maine’s First Anti-Equality Ad Hits the Airwaves–and It Stinks!

Wow. Stand for Marriage Maine’s first televsion commercial is boring and full of lies. Note especially the use of the Associated Press logo and the fake headline. Uh oh! The AP gets really fussy about stuff like that. I wonder what they will do when they get complaints?

The No on 1, the pro-marriage equality group, has ads which show happy real Mainers celebrating family and friends. No lies, no distortions, no misappropriation of logos.

Who would you vote for? No much of a choice really. Scary, boring liars or happy, loving families?

Hmm… hope, love and respect vs. fear & lawsuits. I hope Mainers can buck to fear wave that is rolling over the country.

Their ad is a carbon copy of the Yes on H8 ad, with the professor behind his desk speaking authoritatively about all the bad things that will happen to our children. It worked in California; let’s hope we can stop it in Maine.

Here’s the thing, same-sex marriage should become mandatory for ALL Americans. Then when people raise a fuss, we can say, “Well… we COULD just let consenting same-sex couples marry…” and everyone will agree.

Problem solved.
