Mr. Bruce has an opinion on health care reform. And it’s nothing to scratch at.

We got yer crazies here in CA

The Mt. Shasta News reports that at a recent town hall in Redding, Republican Rep. Wally Herger went out of his way to praise a man who stood up and identified himself as “a proud right-wing terrorist,” calling him “a great American.”

Yes, you heard me right: Rep. Herger, a Republican Congressman from California, publicly praised a self-described right-wing terrorist. That’s outrageous.

So I have my copy of Rolling Stone here and Matt Taibbi has done a nice number on Obamacare. While he doesn’t discuss the common ground reforms that would be nice (eg no pre-existing conditions) he makes it clear that at this point people ought to be working to defeat Obama’s health care “reform”.

I know this site has the whole thing with trying to get 60-odd congressman to hold out for a public option but it just looks like they’re three steps ahead of you because (1) these same 60-odd already sold out Single Payer and (2) the public option has already been nerfed so that it can’t work. Looks like a bait and switch on the phrase “public option”.

If Nancy Pelosi actually laughed at the idea that the Progressives would hold and she’s the one they bartered away the Single Payer to…. am I missing something here? This goose is cooked. Health insurance industry stock is on the up. I mean even ignoring the senate entirely, it still is all up.

Am I missing something here? The best option is to join the morans defeat the Democrats’ bill. Can you really see the Progressive caucus doing that? Is anyone even going to try and hold them to their promise if it comes to it — and it may already have? It seems like the best hope is to scuttle the whole thing and force a re-do.

Has this already been discussed here in some old thread? Seems like a lot of this is old news now (by a week or two).

That term is really starting to irritate me. There is no such thing as “Obamacare.” There are several competing healthcare reform (or not) bills working their way through congress, but Obama has never articulated a clear, comprehensive, and consistent healthcare agenda of his own.

Mrs. Dr. BC did some research before we got Rambo (my name for him), and discovered that tradition has it that Ramses the Pharaoh was a redhead.

She names her Persians for various and sundry ancient kings of SW Asia and the Med. Rambo’s buddy is a nearly invisible black Persian named King Xerxes.

Thanks, LOL. What I said about value-added it true though. I have a few students every year who could have gone to the Ivies or equivalents.

The difference is that while I have five or ten of those students out of 100 undergrads, Oxy and Columbia and Harvard have 94 or 95 out of 100 undergrads who could have gone anywhere.

Anyone can teach those kids. Get out of their way, don’t mess them up is my approach. Answer questions, give pointers. The others are the ones who really need me.
