The costs of providing police, emergency, sanitation and other services for the Michael Jackson memorial have hit $4million–especially now that the Jackson family has said that the casket will be driven to Staples Center for the memorial. So Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has asked fans to donate to help off set the costs.

The city launched a Web site with a link to a "paypal" account into which fans could make only contributions using major credit cards. Fans will have access to the site through the mayor’s facebook page, facebook.com/villaraigosa , and twitter page, twitter.com/villaraigosa .
