I think now a lot of his video work,especially dealing with world suffering will now be appreciated,and better understood.They were showing some of those videos this morning,such as “heal the world” that at the time people were not really into.But I think now his message will get across.

Not gonna lie. I had to share a tear for MJ.

His music was the soundtrack of my youth.

His songs bring back memories through my 39 years of life including my first day in Kindergarten.

When I danced in the Kitchen to Dancing Machine and I swear you could not tell me I wan not Michael.

whether you are a Michael Jackson fan or not, this is news. And several people invested millions in his comeback. he wons about half the Beatles catalog (he mortgaged the rest to his record company to cover his debt) Neverland ranch is a huge piece of pretty much undeveloped land in Santa Barbara county, which is now the property of his investors..so this does have impact beyond just another dead famous (and creepy ) guy. Not to mention the impact he has had on pop culture. WE ARE THE WORLD?

Are you denying he was a criminal?

I think what I said was it was a callused, cheap drive by comment.

Didn’t get into issues of his criminality.

There’s a time and place for that — for me, today isn’t it.

I have enjoyed Michael & his family’s music for almost 40 years.

His untimely death has touched me and my family greatly.

I do appreciate, however, the fact that you added context to your point of view, unlike the comment DrZen left.

“No cause for mourning” seemed a little needlessly cold to me.

Gawd, the way MSNBC is going on you would have thunk that Tim Russert had died again.

I get that some people here weren’t into Michael Jackson.

But, in that case, do what I do when stuff I’m not into (like, for instance the nonstop ‘Kate plus Eight’ or whatever it’s called) dominates the airwaves — change the channel.

Are you denying he was a criminal? I think part of the sad reality is that he was another exploited child star. After a very early age, his life was no longer his own…full of managers & hangers-on & users for what’s in it for me. I do not know if he would have been so weird without all of that…but small wonder he went to such extremes to chart his own path when he was old enough..
