Voight is correct: the closest analogy to Barack Hussein Obama is Julius and/or Octavius Caesar. Taking the forms of the American Republic and turning it into dictatorship. There were always Republicans in Imperial Rome and may Brutus live forever. Hail Voight!

You have questions. Let me provide some answers which I’ve read or heard elsewhere.

What happened to getting out of Iraq by 2011?

He caved to the military who said he should go with the forces agreement Bush and Iraq agreed to. So, we get out by end of next year.

What happened to single payer?

He never said we’d get that. He said he favored it, but it was unrealistic to imagine this government would give us that.

What happened to don’t ask don’t tell?

I guess it’s still in the works. He’s been kinda busy with some other stuff. You may have heard.

What happened to the people getting screwed by the banks?

As it has always been, so shall it always be. Financial industry reform really hasn’t come through yet. That’s Dodd’s bailiwick, with input & suggestions from Obama. I too wish they’d get on with that as a revived economy would still be at risk from the things which are broken.

Why is no Bushie or thievin’ corporate exec held accountable?

As with DADT, it’s in the works. Some of these things are maddeningly slow to arrive, but arrive they will.

Why is he covering for US imperialism, The CIA torture and the settlements in the West Bank?

If you know about them then it can’t be said there covered up.

The settlements aren’t news. But, they are pushing forward on resolving the whole Israel-Palestinians issue. Read the press for updates on that.

I call bulldada. You’re suggesting that Americans surrender their Constitutional rights to disagree with US domestic or foreign policy when they travel? Is that in a codicil to the 1st Amendment? Stated in the US Passport?

I’ve never heard that there was something in our Constitution that we lie about our feelings about a President or our Governments actions when we travel abroad…and I’ve been doing it all my life. In fact, it’s one of the biggest differences between Americans travelling and those from petty little dictatorial states…Americans can say what they feel and still return to the the country without fear the government is going to clamp down on them.

The Dixie Chicks weathered the storm pretty well…and what they said has proven correct. Jon Voight’s comments are simply off on the lunatic margins.
