Nancy Reagan Lectures Obamas on PR Moves

35761441.thumbnail.jpgLike a prim great aunt, Nancy Reagan reprimanded Obama in print for not inviting her to attend a ceremony earlier this year when he reversed Bush’s embryonic stem cell research policy–mainly because it would have gotten him good press. Nancy, a staunch advocate of stem cell research told Vanity Fair:

I would have gone, and you know I don’t like to travel. Politically it would have been a good thing for him to do. Oh, well, nobody’s perfect. He called and thanked me for working on it. But he could have gotten more mileage out of it.

Nancy, who once chicly appeared in a flak jacket for a drug raid

encouraged Mrs. Obama to have lots of state dinners.

Spit take. However POTUS did have the former First Lady on hand today as he signed legislation creating the Ronald Reagan Centennial Commission which will plan and carry out activities to mark the 100th birthday of the former president in 2011.

Did we get an LBJ Centennial Commission? Or FDR? Why a Ray-gun Centennial Commission? He wasn’t all the popular when it came down to it.
