Okay California is pretty damn broke, and when you’re broke you sell stuff. So when his proposal to legalize, regulate and tax the bejeesus out of pot went up in smoke, Gov. Schwarzenegger came up with a really bonehead plan:

Sell San Quentin!

WFT? As condo conversions? Granted, California’s only death row prison is located on magnificent headlands in Marin Country, but this seems pretty freaking stupid. Has Ahunld’s been testing out decriminalization of cannabis during work hours?

Oh and the Los Angelels Coliseum is up for sale, but since the University of Southern California is interested in buying it, the national historic monument may not get turned into a strip mall.

Del Mar Fair Grounds? For sale. Orange County Fairgrounds? For sale. Cow Palace? For sale.

Idiots.

Cow Palace? Do they still hold events there?

“Granted, California’s only death row prison is located on magnificent headlands in Marin Country, but this seems pretty freaking stupid.”

Your statement would be more effective if you gave your reason for opposing this.

It seems to me that law abiding citizens should be enjoying that view, especially when the state can make money by providing it to them.

A prison like that does not need to be on some of the most desirable (and expensive) real estate in the state.

The problem is the cost of building a new prison will cost more than closing the old one and selling it.

We need to get back to the POT idea. It’s the only thing that makes sense.

Interesting, runfastandwin.

Can you point me to the numbers that back up your assertion?

As far as the “POT idea” goes, how much money will that raise, and where do you get that number?
