Not up on my humor literature and analysis, but I seem to remember that the court jester was the only one in the royal retinue who could tell the truth.

Perhaps the U.S. would be better off if the CIA were staffed by the likes of Stewart, Colbert, Sykes.

A number of the callers on Washington Journal today were in a nasty royal snit about both Sykes and Obama……the ones who claim to be dems or say they voted for O. *but*………..and the litany begins. It never ceases to amaze how they always accuse him of doing exactly the same things bush did; project much?

Before the Inauguration, I was saying online that the trolls are watching what we’re saying (one troll on my blog said this to me), and if you’ve noticed, they’re using what we say as a way to go after President Obama and other dems. They’re doing this because they have NOTHING. If you’ve noticed, these asswipes are already calling for Obama’s impeachment because he’s a “war criminal”, “has lied to the nation”, and “was not duly elected by the American people”. Now, gee, where have we heard that before? LOL They’re hoping they can create a wave of fake anger against President Obama using the TRUTHS against George Bush! I say, “nice try idiots! I’m onto ya little pathetic schemes!”.

Lately, he’s started chuckling at his own jokes, and I don’t think that’s as effective…

He was killer last night though, and I loved Sykes too…

But the whole think is more then a little incestuous and chummy…the fine line between the powerful and the press has been breaking down for a long time, and in the last twenty years almost disappeared…

Most of the famous bobble-heads are making more moolah then the top politicians, and both feel they belong to a privileged club that the rest of us are barred from!

It’s deja vu all over again. Remember 3 years ago, when Stephen Colbert was the entertainer at the same dinner? And remember how the average citizen LOVED it, while the Villagers thought it was NOT funny? Last night, I actually watched it on teevee. (Well, I TiVo’ed it and watched several hours later.) They had on a host, from LA, and the other 3 talking heads were: Pat Buchanan, Something Franken (not Al), and some woman. I swear! If you took all their ages and averaged them, it would be 75. In short, they felt it was NOT FUNNY! Well, Obama was a little funny, but Sykes was not at all funny, and Buchanan was especially angry that she dissed Rush Limbaugh.

It is 2006 all over again.

You might say WHCA 2009 was a perfect metaphor for WHCA 2006 except for just about everything that happened. Colbert skewered Bush and pissed him off. Sykes made fun of Obama with respect. The best line of the night was about giving Obama a break for not getting a shelter dog because Obama has taken on fixing all the country’s problems caused by the last owner who abused it for 8 years. It’s the first time I’ve been able to laugh about it.
