Michael J Fox’s Wicked Humor: Rush Limbaugh, Stem Cells and Politicians

Michael J Fox discusses parenting, politics and his new book Always Looking Up, Adventures of an Incurable Optimist–and trades Rush Limbaugh jokes with John Stewart on The Daily Show.

MJF explains how he had some fun some when Limbaugh began to pick on him for advocating stem cell research during the 2006 mid-term elections (Windbag went to far as to say the actor was exaggerating the symptoms of his Parkinsons disease to gain sympathy and help elect pro-stem cell research politicians):

It got fun when Rush Limbaugh–I can’t barely say the name–he launched kind of his attack. I just had this moment where I went ‘Is it that predictable? Is it that cartoonish to attack the messenger in that way and not deal with the merits of the science at all.’ We basically hijacked the last two weeks of that midterm election..there was kind of a merry prankster thing to it.

Thanks for this post LaFiga. I watched the show last night, and as Jon says, Michael lights up the room.
