Hilary Duff Drunk and Rude? “I Don’t Know” is the New “No Comment”
I really liked Hilary Duff in War, Inc. I thought it was a break through role for her, and showed her as a good sport, able to mock her teen star persona while carrying off a passable Eastern European accent. After reading Gawker’s account of a drunk, rude, nasty Duff at Freeman’s, I thought, well gosh, maybe there was an explanation as to why Hilary went all Courtney Love on some guy.
This afternoon I rang Hilary’s management company.
Voice: Hello
Me: Is this Curtis Talent Managment?
Voice: Yes
Me: And you handle Hilary Duff?
Voice: Yes
Me: I’m looking for a comment on the Gawker story that your client was drunk and rude at Freeman’s, a club in New York
Voice: I don’t know anything about that
Me: Let me read you some of it from Gawker ("She went nuts. Screaming, yelling, announcing her presence and exclaiming that I was ruining her dinner with my awful and/or loud stories.") And basically more of the same.
Voice: (snort) I don’t know anything about that.
Me: It’s all over the web.
Voice: I don’t know anything about that.
Me: So she wasn’t drunk and rude and Freeman’s this week?
Voice: I don’t know anything about that. I don’t know anything about that.
Me: So that’s your comment
Voice: I don’t even know if she was in New York. I don’t know anything about that. Okay?
M: Great, thanks for your help!
I wish I’d asked for comment about
"Hillary Duff" on the iPhone autocorrects to "Hilarious Duff"
but I think we can guess what the answer would be…
