FDL Live Blogs Oscar Night Pre-Show

Welcome to FDL Live Blogs the Oscars, well okay the pre-show right now, where we’ll be discussing who’s nominated, who’s arriving, what they’re wearing, and if they are wearing white knots for marriage equality, red ribbons for HIV/AIDS awareness or just some damn tacky borrowed dress and jewelry.

 Liveblogging:

3:51 I just got organized..and here’s  melissa Leo in a gorgeous bronze gown..they just lost audio  .

3:55 borrowed jewels, and people watching all over the world

4:01 lots of black, not enough colors–oooo Zac Efron  gets to do something with Huge Hugh Jackman. Zac’s hair is greasy.

4:03  Who knew 300 million people in Indonesia care about the Oscars?  Which brings up the point that film/entertainment has always been one of greatest exports and the looming strike plus runaway productions has really hurt California–and the US economy.

4:06  Pleas keep track of any white knots for marriage equality and red ribbons for HIV/AIDS awareness, let us know in comments who you spot with them on..and wear one or both yourself!

4:09: OMG, George Pannichio just LIED! he told Amy Adams how Randolph Duke was saiyng how great she looks, when in reality Duke, the fashion snarker said her dress was great but the necklace makes her

look like a Christmas tree..ring around the collar

4:14 Duke says when times are bad, the glamour comes out..ooh Josh Brolin and Diane Lane..I loved him in American Gangster–he isa great tormented villian–as in W and Milk

okay–I’m gonna gossip in comments for now and live blog during the show..

I lent mine to Hugh for the video above. It probably looks better on him than me.

So let’s settle back and enjoy the gowns, the glitz and the snark that is live blogging the Oscar pre-show.

It has to be asked by someone: in the video, who designed Hugh’s sleeveless outfit? In my head, I can hear Annie Savoy from Bull Durham, ”Oh my . . .”

lol

and i LOVE seeing the women without their make up. they’re still lovely! naturally so.

I’ve never been one to dog too badly on anyone at these things. Even when I cannot figure out WHAT they may have been seeing in the mirror when they left (when it’s obviously NOT what I think I”M seeing). God love them, we have ALL had those moments!

see, I loved Miley’s gown, gawdy has my heart, even though she her own self drives me nutz reminding me of my own teen, pre-emancipation.
