Actually, I really do agree with you 99% of the time on this. But Palin is a n exceptional case. See owes her selection , as I was implying previously, to nothing but her looks. If she ’s going to use sex appeal to achieve advancement, and she’s a public figure, I can’t get worked up about it.
(I find her candidacy analogous to that of Dan Quayle, chosen also for naught but appearance.)
Anyway, that’s my version of a serious answer.
However, a joke’s a joke. Would you oblect to
GWFJ for Palin?

If you think for one minute that my comment is a defense of Palin, you’re completely missing the point. There are ample reasons to despise her without referring to her as a sex object. If you think that somehow this reference to Palin as “GILF” is somehow poking fun at the notion of her as a sexual object instead of, you know, making her a sexual object, fine. I remain unconvinced.

Sexism is sexism, whether it’s practiced cynically by the GOP or “humorously” by the Left.

Or aren’t we supposed to be better than that?

I don’t know; she scares the hell out of me. I have already seen several cars driving around up here in “blue” Maine with “Palin ‘12″ stickers on them. She came in #1 in one of those stupid “Who is the most admired women” polls. The fact that she can’t “do” policy is a feature, not a bug, as far as her fan base is concerned. And there are a passle of them out there - a noisy passle.

I think that the blogosphere needs to make it a point to spend the next four years making SURE she is the laughing stock everyone here seems to think she is.

What could be more progressive than declaring independence from the monarchy, insisting on freedom of religion rather than the official religion of the crown, demanding representation, limiting government power while pioneering a new form of government built to address every objectionable aspect of what they inherited?

Palin wants you to believe these were conservative principles at play in this declaration. No Sarah, you uneducated moron, this was a progressive act. These these f*cking conservatives are kleptomaniacs or ignorant as shit.

Yer damn right. Palin’s looks shouldn’t be part of the discussion, as they certainly played no part in her selection as the GOP Vice-Presidential candidate.
We should be discussing her many other qualifications.

I remember you saying something about issues wrt Palin having “nothing to do with her lady parts” in a post some time ago.
Wrong. Without her “lady parts,” she would be just another Gooper Wanker asshole, like former Maryland Governor Bob Ehrlich.
