She should have called it “PAC ice”

macaquerman | Tuesday January 27, 2009 02:12 pm 2

Surely you can find a suitable donation. A prom dress, sensible shoes?

Loo Hoo. | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:05 pm 3

It will be interesting to see how the coffers fill.

“must confront the challenges of the 21st century with integrity, innovation, and determination”

Conservative innovation – show me.

Knut | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:10 pm 6

Anybody who donates to that PAC so SarahP can increase the size of her wardrobe has got rocks in his head.

siri | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:10 pm 7

if her name had been tammy,
would it be TamPAC???

sorry.
sexist, i guess.
but i’m the first one to refer to “boners” n other assorted pricks.

so i think i can get away with that.

It will be interesting to see how the coffers fill.

in one sentence you’ve created quite a dynamic discussion in my own head;

palin is the base’s wet dream however they have no money

she is unelectable and those with money know this, they are almost definately not going to go full out donor mode for her since they surely know their investment will not only be wasted on someone as unelectable as she is but they also are smart enough to realize she is also uncontrolable

AND they understand that with palin as president they get her husband as the real president.

will they throw bad money after bad?

I really don’t think so

however palin could well create the same type grass roots investment and movement that obama mobilized.

this is going to be very interesting indeed

plust if she runs the republicans have a no-lose candidate;

if she wins they win by “getting as concervative as possible”, if they lose “they didn’t lose the women who might be less inteligent then bush lost” and they will be allowed their cognitive disonance and believe concervatism didn’t fail the candidate did

ShotoJamf | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:22 pm 15

I hate to raise the question, but is the garment Palin is wearing in the photo on her “SarahPAC” website one of the donated items from the campaign? (Which would mean it now resides in a trashbag somewhere in the bowels of the RNC.) Wouldn’t that be some irony? Whatever the case, what a shrill, shrieking dingbat this woman is…

Elliott | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:26 pm 16

Does this mean she can PAC it in now?

assuming they still have credit left…

ratfood | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:39 pm 23

Our country, founded on conservative principles and the fight for freedom-

During the American revolution, weren’t the Tories the conservatives? The folks wanting to break away from England were comparatively progressive.

HillaryClinton4BarackObama | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:41 pm 24

I would love to cuddle with Palin …

Maybe Sarkozy can film us doing something naughty …

I thought Sarah hated ideas.

ratfood | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:43 pm 26

Nothing quite like the girl next door.

Loo Hoo. | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:44 pm 27

Blub, has the book deal been signed?

katymine, there’s an article on Huffpo describing why the PAC is in Virginia. Didn’t make a lot of sense to me.

She hates reality. Adam and Eve frolicking with dinosaurs… no problem.

STTPinOhio | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:45 pm 29

Dedicated to building America’s future a permanent Republican minority by espousing wingnut values that only appeals to an ever more narrow slice of the American public.

Thank you, Sarah.

Thank you.

ThingsComeUndone | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:48 pm 30

This PAC is just a legal device so people can toss her money.

Loo Hoo. | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:49 pm 31

if she wants to redeem herself, she should dedicate the PAC to raising awareness in WDC of the crisis in, um, rural drug across the land.

Loo Hoo. | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:58 pm 37

STTPinOhio | Tuesday January 27, 2009 05:59 pm 38
In response to ThingsComeUndone @ 30

This PAC is just a legal device so people can toss her money.

Exactly. And the more money and attention she gets, the better, because that will take oxygen and resources away from legitimate candidates.

I’ll start worrying about her when she makes a coherent statement about some pressing issue relevant to most Americans.

In other words, never.

Loo Hoo. | Tuesday January 27, 2009 06:01 pm 39

Blub, yes that, or she could raise some monies for the indigenous people freezing and staving in her own state. She doesn’t give a rip about anyone but herself.

ratfood | Tuesday January 27, 2009 06:02 pm 40

Maybe this is the real reason Kristol is leaving the NYT. He’ll be too busy promoting SarahPAC, aka Pimping Alaskan Candidate.

Margot | Tuesday January 27, 2009 06:03 pm 41

New post

katymine | Tuesday January 27, 2009 06:04 pm 42

When companies or other entity register their primary address in a different state always makes me wonder what regulations or lack of regulations benefit the PAC. Insurance companies register in Delaware because they allow the lowest benefits to be paid out for health care.

Wow, the United States was “founded on conservative principles.” I wonder if the Brits knew that. How come we call it the American Revolution?

questioneverything | Tuesday January 27, 2009 07:02 pm 46

This would be news if it said Palin’s got a shrink. What else did you think Madam Governor would do? I hope Olbermann plays her turkey killing interview every night for the next two years.

Dismayed | Tuesday January 27, 2009 07:15 pm 47

Let ‘em run that dumb twit again. She won’t ever have enough watts in her bulb to beat a decent candidate, and she can’t win on the votes of the dumb-asses in this country.

Plus the comedians need easy material.

Go Sara, make an ass of yourself – again.

dosido | Tuesday January 27, 2009 07:56 pm 48

2012 is a whole new ball game. The goopers won’t have Bush’s track record to mess up the campaign, so they’ll be willing to run against Little Miss Sarah. We had the bottom of the barrel this go around. Watch for “young” “fresh” faces like Mike Pence, Eric Cantor, to be the “new” GOP leaders of the “new” gop.

you betcha!

RickinSF | Tuesday January 27, 2009 07:56 pm 49

“Palin’s got a PAC”

I would concur that 2012 is a whole new ballgame, and it scares me to contemplate it. As for the two “fresh faces” mentioned? I can see Pence pulling a Larry Craig at some point, while Eric Cantor strikes me as nothing so much as a straight-up child molestor. Both of these guys are really fuckin’ creepy. They’d fit right in with Palin…

Think about it: Would you allow your underaged children to be alone and unsupervised with Pence or Cantor? Or even Palin, for that matter? That’s what I thought…

dws3665 | Tuesday January 27, 2009 10:33 pm 52

Seriously, Lisa? Again with the “GILF” crap? What the hell is the matter with you?

What the hell is the matter with Jane et al. that they let you continue to post this sexist asshat-ery? Is no one paying attention, or is it just okay to be sexist about Republicans?

I remember you saying something about issues wrt Palin having “nothing to do with her lady parts” in a post some time ago.
Wrong. Without her “lady parts,” she would be just another Gooper Wanker asshole, like former Maryland Governor Bob Ehrlich.

Make no mistake – it is indeed all about the “lady parts.”

Yer damn right. Palin’s looks shouldn’t be part of the discussion, as they certainly played no part in her selection as the GOP Vice-Presidential candidate.
We should be discussing her many other qualifications.
Would you care to start the list?

Neil | Wednesday January 28, 2009 12:29 am 56

Our country, founded on conservative principles and the fight for freedom, must confront the challenges of the 21st century with integrity, innovation, and determination.

What could be more progressive than declaring independence from the monarchy, insisting on freedom of religion rather than the official religion of the crown, demanding representation, limiting government power while pioneering a new form of government built to address every objectionable aspect of what they inherited?

Palin wants you to believe these were conservative principles at play in this declaration. No Sarah, you uneducated moron, this was a progressive act. These these f*cking conservatives are kleptomaniacs or ignorant as shit.

Punkster | Wednesday January 28, 2009 06:21 am 59

I don’t know; she scares the hell out of me. I have already seen several cars driving around up here in “blue” Maine with “Palin ‘12″ stickers on them. She came in #1 in one of those stupid “Who is the most admired women” polls. The fact that she can’t “do” policy is a feature, not a bug, as far as her fan base is concerned. And there are a passle of them out there – a noisy passle.

I think that the blogosphere needs to make it a point to spend the next four years making SURE she is the laughing stock everyone here seems to think she is.

dws3665 | Wednesday January 28, 2009 01:11 pm 60
In response to macaquerman @ 54

If you think for one minute that my comment is a defense of Palin, you’re completely missing the point. There are ample reasons to despise her without referring to her as a sex object. If you think that somehow this reference to Palin as “GILF” is somehow poking fun at the notion of her as a sexual object instead of, you know, making her a sexual object, fine. I remain unconvinced.

Sexism is sexism, whether it’s practiced cynically by the GOP or “humorously” by the Left.

Or aren’t we supposed to be better than that?

macaquerman | Wednesday January 28, 2009 01:44 pm 61
In response to dws3665 @ 60

Actually, I really do agree with you 99% of the time on this. But Palin is a n exceptional case. See owes her selection , as I was implying previously, to nothing but her looks. If she ’s going to use sex appeal to achieve advancement, and she’s a public figure, I can’t get worked up about it.
(I find her candidacy analogous to that of Dan Quayle, chosen also for naught but appearance.)
Anyway, that’s my version of a serious answer.
However, a joke’s a joke. Would you oblect to
GWFJ for Palin?
(Gov Whose a Fucking Joke)

macaquerman | Wednesday January 28, 2009 01:48 pm 62
In response to macaquerman @ 61

Maybe the joke’s on me today, as I obviously am too stupid to learn who’s who.

PS I rag Lisa every time I see her making fun of Palin’s kids. Can’t see anything funny ’bout that.
