Blago Takin’ It to the People, Using Murder Suspect’s PR Firm

Because nothing says crisis control like hiring the same public relations firm used by former Bolingbrook police sergeant Drew Peterson, who is suspected in the disappearance of his fourth wife and whose third wife died suspiciously in a bathtub.

Though Lightnin’ Rod Blagojevich has hired The Publicity Agency for

his dealings with the news media that are outside the scope of his job as governor

a Blago spokesperson  was unaware of the new addition to the governor’s team. Blago’s impeachment trial began today while he was taping Good Morning America, and continued during his appearance on The View.

Claiming that he is being targeting by the Illinois legislature because of his health car and public transportation reforms,  Blago says he is taking is case to the American people, and that he’s not participating in the impeachment trial because in order to do so he would have to admit he is guilty before being able to present evidence ot the contrary.

At least I think that’s what he’s saying.

What are the odds this guy’s toast?

Chicago Trib has a few words to say about this.

By hiring the public-relations firm that represents former Bolingbrook Police Sgt. Drew Peterson, the impeached governor of Illinois has accomplished two things.

He has given the green light to those of us who felt timid about drawing comparisons between his brash behavior and Peterson’s. And he has cemented our state’s new marketing slogan as: “Come to Illinois. Chock full o’ crazy.”

tropicgirl | Monday January 26, 2009 04:38 pm 4

First of all, Drew Peterson is a murder SUSPECT. Many other polticians have used this firm so what you are saying is ridiculous.

It is amazing to me that with the so-called intelligence of the people on blogs and in America, that people so easily piled on the governor from Illinois without cause. Does it bother you that what they are impeaching him on are things that have nothing to do with the criminal case? (Things like getting low cost drugs for people in need from Canada?, which made the greedy pharmaceutical companies mad).

So what you have here is a governor who is popular with the people (elected twice) he serves but not with the crooked Illinois politicians. If you read the trumped-up charges, there is really nothing there.

No wonder the democrats in this country fell for Bush and the neocons, and you all will do it again. Why? Willful ignorance. You should all be ashamed. You should have seen Jeraldo Rivera scream at the Illinois legislator on Fox today about 4pm. It was really great. The guy had no excuse for himself. He admitted that he took money from the drug companies himself.

Just a suggestion… read things for yourself, put yourself in that position and ask yourself if it is really fair. Then make up your own mind. I am so sick of seeing that hag from the Detroit paper dragged on Chris Matthews day after day giving us advice on what to believe. I hope Blago takes down everyone with him including Rahm and the other liars. The state needs more than an enema, it needs a 2 hour colonic.

Watch Heraldo on Fox here and enjoy watching a lying politician:

that would be Geraldo. Blago tried to sell a Senate seat – is that criminal or what?

Just what I need to see, Geraldo Rivera screaming at a politician. Hey, Geraldo, didja find anything in Big Al’s safe?

Blagojevich has compared himself to just about everyone but Christ and I expect that anytime now. An impeachment trial is a political not judicial process so the rules are not the same. The first article of the impeachment bill in fact refers to his attempt to sell Obama’s Senate seat. But the governor has been a crook for years and so the bill addresses other issues as well. Right now Blago is polling just behind cyanide in the state so appeals to his popularity need to be tempered with a modicum of reality.

Yeah, but what kind?

Peanbutbutter toast?
Jelly Toast?
Milk toast?

My humble guess is he’s BURNT toast.

And while I’ll bet there’s MANY others guilty by association to Blago, they will go free, that’s how toasted this putz is.

Why’s he still news?

Someone cue “Polka On The Banjo” . . . I’m bored. *G*

suspected in the disappearance of his fourth wife and whose third wife died suspiciously in a bathtub.

I don’t suppose you could possibly be making that up, but — Good Grief! You couldn’t pull that off in a pulp paperback from the ’40s. Agatha Christie in a country manor, maybe, but still … (Has anybody checked the toolshed?)

From that timeless musical, Chicago (!!!), I give you:

Give ‘em the old razzle dazzle
Razzle dazzle ‘em
Give ‘em act with lots of flash in it
And the reaction will be passionate
Give ‘em the old hocus pocus
Bead and feather ‘em
How can they see with sequins in their eyes?

What if your hinges all are rusting?
What if, in fact, you’re just disgusting ?

Razzle dazzle ‘em
And they’ll never catch wise!
Eh Eh Eh Eh
Ah! Ah! Ah!
Give ‘em the old razzle dazzle

Governor Blagojevich, does have a point. The reason that he is being impeached at this time isn’t that he did the things he is accused of, although he did most likely do those things,he is being impeached because he has alienated just about every other politician in the state and a solid majority of the citizenry. If the Governor was either popular or had strong political defenders the legislators would be piously proclaiming that we should wait till the Governor has his day in Federal Court before they acted. As it is many if not most of the Illinois political establishment loath the governor and as far as the people go, when Hugh compares the Governors popularity to cyanide he does not exaggerates.
The real reasons for this impeachment are; the legislators want to impeach him, his impeachment is popular with the people, the accusations that the Governor tried to sell a Senate seat provides a good reason. The fact that it’s the right thing to do, and I think it is, is far down on the list of reasons that it’s being done.
