Obamapalooza: Kids Get Star Studded Events Too

the-obama-family_443x400.thumbnail.jpgOn January 19, the premiere the "Presidential Pledge" of celebrities making service commitments kicks off with Demi Moore and Ashton Kushner making a visit to Ballou High School in Washington DC for a ServiceNation "breakfast dialogue". Joining them will be Martin Luther King III, D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty, Tobey Maguire and Time editor in chief Richard Stengel.

After the breakfast, the guests can participate in a service project with coalition partners at Simon Elementary School, working on beautification projects ranging from painting classrooms and murals to transforming the library.

That night the Kids’ Inaugural Ball–a concert honoring military families, hosted by Michelle Obama, Jill Biden (she’s a PhD–hot!) and their families–features Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Bow Wow, Usher Raymond IV and Keke Palmer.  The Kid’s Inaugural Ball will be broadcast on the DisneyChannel and Disney radio.

 And oh, heck some more name dropping, on January 20th, in the spirit of inclusion the he Brand On January 2oth, the Brand New President hosts the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball, a first time ever concept, and considered the premier event of the Inaugural evening. The idea is honor neighborhoods across America. Performers include Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Faith Hill, JAY-Z, Alicia Keys, Shakira and Stevie Wonder, with Nick Cannon DJing the event. Producers say more guests will be announced as they confirm. You can watch that airing live, 8-10 Eastern.
