Considering how media savvy Obama’s team has been, this is an inspired move.

We have a health care crises. And it’s not just about how to pay for it. We have a generation of kids that include a lot of obese children. Long term health issues are a concern with this.

Consider what Obama has said about parents taking responsibilty with their kids when it comes to video games and school work.

How else to deliver the message of taking responsibility for health and the long term consequences of not doing so then by having a media savvy and qualified professional, who has has an established platform of trust with an audience.

From whatever I’ve seen from Dr. Sanjaya, he pushes BigPharma and Medical Industrial Complex solutions, while at the same time falsely claiming that natural remedies and healing are often “more dangerous.” It’s often just the opposite as many studies have shown.

While many advances in Medicine have been fantastic, BigMedicine often tries to shut down the natural approaches, which have little or no profit since people get sick much, much less. But it’s not about that, is it?

Hopefully Gupta will realize this and offer both approaches as complimentary, and not adversarial. Could be wrong, but haven’t seen that from the good doctor so far.
