Morning Bitter Just Got Better: Coulter Off Tuesday’s Today Show

storyvertcoulteredgi.thumbnail.jpgAnn Coulter writes on her her website that her appearances tomorrow on the Today Show and the Today Show Fourth Hour have been canceled:

TODAY SHOW AND TODAY SHOW FOURTH HOUR: CANCELLED!

I guess this ends the "they just want to get ratings" argument about liberal media bias.

But tomorrow CBS’s Early Show  has picked up the bitter blonde whose newest book Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America, makes frequent use of a slang term for cats when referring to both candidates for the presidency and claims that the children of single mothers are "future strippers." Oh and she doesnt like the way Michelle Obama dresses either. Pithy.

Media Matters for America pointed out that Coulter’s book was full of inaccuracies and inflammatory statements. (Plus she’s just not funny, witty or clever, IMO)

As Media Matters reports that a number of NBC on-air personalities–including Today co-hosts Meredith Vieira and Matt Lauer, have  expressed disproval of Coulter, or criticized the media for promoting her. Though she has been a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the talk show host has termed her statements harsh" and "nasty."

If Coulter’s shrill anger and facile hostility is what passes for deep thinking and/or humor amongst the conservatives, the GOP is really in trouble. And though I may sound retro-sexist, I think Miss Coulter could do with a  dainty dose of laudanum or something ooooh else to relieve her hysteria and help her examine both her misogyny and her need to scream "pussy."

“Today” put on Perez Hilton instead! He has a new book out, which judging from his website (www.perezhilton.com), is likely to be more substantive and less mean than Ann’s.

“We’ve had Ann Coulter on ‘Today’ many times, but because of the news in Washington and the Middle East, we decided to cancel her appearance tomorrow,” NBC News said in a statement Monday. “Understanding the media as well as she does, we are sure she knows this happens from time to time. We look forward to welcoming her back in the future.”
